Exclusively designed by our goldsmith and locally made in Westport. The Westport Pendant has the 4 symbols of the town which are etched in a horizontal silver pendant with a belcher chain.

The top symbol captures the famine ship, a bronze memorial in Murrisk, that encompasses the magnitude of the suffering and loss endured by people of Ireland during the famine.

The second symbol captures the town Clock, built in 1947 on the site of an old fountain.

The third symbol captures the monument , the Octagon, built in 1845.

The fourth symbol shows Irelands famous mountain, Croagh Patrick that lies on the south shores of Clew Bay. The mountain had strong religious significance in St.Patrick’s time.Pilgrimages are recorded in the annals almost a thousand years ago. The tradition of climbing the holy mountain on Garland Friday and “Reek” Sunday( the last Sunday in July) is still very important today.
